Starting in April 2026, cyclists will have to pay fines if they violate traffic rules.
This applies to people aged 16 and over.
■Examples of violations and fines
・Using a mobile phone while riding: ¥12,000.
・Ignoring traffic lights: ¥6,000.
・Riding without lights at night: ¥5,000.
