[IKE24-23]【Health Insurance Cards to be Discontinued】: The issuance of existing health insurance cards will be discontinued on Dec. 2, 2024.
Please consider obtaining your My Number card and using it as your health insurance card.

To use a My Number card as a health insurance card, you need to obtain your My Number card and apply for the use of it as your health insurance card.
Application procedure is simple. Just hold your My Number card over the card reader at medical institutions or pharmacies, or you can apply from your PC, smartphone or a Seven Bank ATM nationwide.

For those without My Number card, “status confirmation certificate” is to be issued to show verification of eligibility.
Medical services will be provided by presenting this certificate at the reception of medical institutions.

You can use your current health insurance card for a maximum of one year while it is valid.
However, if it expires before Dec. 1, 2025, or if any changes occur due to change of job or place of residence, you can only use that insurance card until expiry.
