- [IKE20-15]【Penalties Tightened for Use of Smartphones and Navigation Systems While Driving】
-
In Japan, the number of accidents is increasing, caused by drivers using/viewing their smartphones or navigation systems while driving.
You may be charged with talking on your phone or using/viewing devices such as smartphones or navigations while driving.
These acts are prohibited not only while driving your car, but also when riding your motorcycle or bicycle.
To reduce the number of accidents, the penalties for violating the law have been tightened since December 2019.
It is dangerous to operate your smartphone or navigations system when driving a car or riding a motorcycle/bicycle. So, DON'T!
For details on penalties, please refer to the following website.
