In Japan, there are community associations called jichi-kai or chonai-kai. Residents in the area gather to cooperate to improve living conditions in the community. Foreign residents are eligible to participate.
■Activities include:
・Circulation of notices from city hall,ward office,and town and village offices with information and events details
・Activities to ensure area safety
・Information about disaster preparedness and emergency drills
・Neighborhood events, including festivals and bazaars
■Fee: Resident member fees are applicable,which differs according to each associations.
■Application: Inquire at your local city hall, ward office,and town and village offices.
