[IKE18-32] Rubella (German Measles)/Fushin
If you are infected with rubella (German measles) or "fushin" in Japanese,
symptoms such as a fever, skin rash or swelling of the lymph nodes will appear.
Rubella is highly contagious and said to be 2 to 4 times more infectious than influenza.
People tend to become infected without knowing and are most likely to spread the disease to others.
If infection occurs during pregnancy, the baby could be born with severe problems in the eyes, ears or heart.
Rubella can be prevented by vaccinations.
Municipalities in Kanagawa Prefecture provide financial assistance for rubella vaccination expenses.
