The Great Kanto Earthquake struck Japan on September 1, 1923, resulting in many victims.
September 1 is designated as National Disaster Prevention Day. Make sure that you are prepared for an earthquake or typhoon.
Earthquakes
□ Prepare items that should be taken with you in an emergency.
□ Talk with family members in advance to decide what to do in case of an earthquake.
Typhoons
□ Regularly check the weather forecast.
□ Make sure that items outside around your residence are secure and will not be blown away by the wind.
