[IKE12-23]Disaster Preparedness
On September 1, 1923, The Great Kanto Earthquake struck Tokyo. Many people were killed in this disaster. Since then, September 1 is “Disaster Preparedness Day” in Japan. To be able to react calmly, let’s make preparations for when a disaster occurs. September is also the month when there are many typhoons.
Earthquake Preparation
Prepare emergency items to take with you in case of an earthquake.
Prepare with your family what to do in case of an earthquake.
Prepare for wind and flood damage (from typhoons and other weather)
Please pay attention to weather reports.
Check around your residence and secure such things as potted plants, buckets, laundry poles, and other outdoor items so that they do not blow away in strong winds.
