On October 1, 2017, the minimum wage in Kanagawa Prefecture changed to 956 yen per hour.
The minimum wage applies to everyone working in Kanagawa Prefecture, including permanent employees, temporary workers, and part-time workers.
Employers are required to pay a wage at this rate or higher.

□Conversion of a fixed-term employment contract into an indefinite-term contract
Under the revised Labor Contract Act, fixed-term workers (contract employees, part-timers, etc.) can apply to convert to an indefinite-term contract if a fixed-term contract has been renewed repeatedly for over 5 years. The employer has to convert the contract into indefinite term upon the employee’s request. This amendment applies to contracts concluded on and after April 1, 2013.
If you have been a fixed-term contract worker since April 1, 2013 and apply for an indefinite-term contract in April 2018 but are denied, please consult with one of the offices shown below.
