There is a scholarship for children of single-parent households.
400 students will be selected from among applicants throughout Japan.
Certain conditions must be met to apply for the scholarship.
Eligible applicants: Students in their 3rd year of junior high school, 1st to 3rd year of senior high school, and 1st to 3rd year of technical colleges, etc.
Scholarship amount: 30,000 yen per month. No need for repayment. Can be provided in addition to other scholarships.
Grant period: 1 year (April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021)
Applicant eligibility:
●Students from a single-parent household (such as mother-child family) facing economic difficulties in getting higher education.
●Students of good conduct, motivated to achieve his/her dreams, with a positive attitude toward contributing to society.
※You are not eligible for the scholarship if:
●Your household income per family member is 1 million yen or over.
●Your attendance rate at school for the 2019 school year is under 80%, except when you have a good reason or you can provide a medical certificate of illness or injury.
●Your elder brother(s) or sister(s) also apply for the scholarship. Application is accepted from only one person per household.
