[IKE20-7]【Information on government schemes that can support you, if you are facing financial difficulties due to the new coronavirus impact】
Please note that information is subject to change.
Information on the benefits/support presently under consideration by the government are planned to be sent out separately, once they are announced.

● If you have left work
If you have left work, there is an unemployment benefit, "SHITSUGYO KYUFU" you can recive while you look for a new job.
◇Amount:50% to 80% of your previous salary. The receivable amount will depend on how long you have worked and how much you have been receiving.
◇Period:The period you can receive the benefit will vary in accordance to how many years you have worked in Japan.
◇Target:Part time workers, temporary staff, etc.

◇Conditions:To have been enrolled in employment insurance while you were working.
If the company dismissed you, you need to have worked in Japan for 6months or longer.
If you voluntarily left work, to have worked in Japan for 1 year or longer.

● If you are unable to pay your rent
If your salary is reduced and you cannot pay the rent, 3-months rent amount (max 9 months) can be received for your rent, "JYUKYO KAKUHO KYUFUKIN" (benefit to secure housing).
Applications accepted from April 20, 2020.

● If you cannot pay your electricity/gas/water/telephone bills
There are companies allowing a defer of payments for those whose income has drastically been reduced due to the new coronavirus impact
or those who have difficulty in normal payment procedures because they cannot go out.
Measures will vary depending on the contracting company or your local municipality.
Please check the website stated on your bills, etc.
