- [IKE20-19]【Supplemental Fund for Senior High School Students】

There is a supplemental scholarship fund for senior high school students in Kanagawa,
called "KANAGAWAKEN KOUKOUSEITOU SHOUGAKUKYUFUKIN".
The grant can be used for supplemental educational expenses other than tuition, such as textbooks, learning materials, school supplies, school-commuting supplies, after-school activities, student council fee, PTA fee, and school trip fee.
Repayment is not necessary.
The amount of grants:
National and public senior high school students: 32,300 yen to 129,700 yen per year
Private senior high school students: 38,100 yen to 138,000 yen per year
Submit your application to your school.
If your school is outside Kanagawa Prefecture, get a proof of your school on the back of the application form and submit it to:
・Kanagawa Prefectural Board of Education, Financial Affairs Division, if it is a national or public high school.
・Kanagawa Prefecture, Private School Promotion Division, if it is a private high school.
The application deadline is Dec. 15th.
You are eligible for the grant if your parent/guardian is living in Kanagawa Prefecture, and
your household is exempted from income-based resident tax or receiving public assistance.

In addition, if your parent’s/guardian's income is decreased due to the impact of COVID-19, etc., you can apply for a grant under the "KAKEI KYUHEN SETAI TAISHO KYUFU" scheme,
which is intended for households undergoing sudden income changes.
