- [IKE20-43]【Filing Income Tax Returns "KAKUTEI SHINKOKU"】

It is a procedure to adjust overpayment/underpayment of withholding tax or prepaid estimated tax during the year 2020 (2nd year of REIWA) from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.
No notices are sent from the tax office, so you need to file on your own if you have to.
●No filing required if:
・You are a salary income earner, your year-end tax adjustments are completed, and you have no need for any filings, such as for deductions.
・You had no income.
・Your total tax deduction/exemption amount exceeds your income amount.
・Your public pension income is 4 million yen or less, and your income other than pensions is 200,000 yen or less.
●Filing is required, mainly for salary income earners if:
・Your salary income exceeds 20 million yen.
・Your income other than salaries, such as real estate income, exceeds 200,000 yen.
・You received salaries from 2 or more companies.
・Your medical-related expenses, such as for hospitalization or delivery and for transport to/from hospital, totaled 100,000 yen and over.
・You will receive home loan tax deduction for the first time.
・Your end-of-year tax adjustments have not been made.

April 15 (Thu), 2021
