[IKE21-30]【For Those in Need due to COVID-19】
There are benefits and loans provided by the government for those in need, due to income reduction caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The application period for the following 4 benefit/loan programs has been extended to the end of November.

① Emergency Small Amount Fund “Kinkyu Koguchi Shikin” (repayment required)
Eligibility: Households facing urgent and temporary difficulties in maintaining their livelihood due to reduced income from temporary business closure, etc., and in need of small loans
Maximum loan amount: 200,000 yen, free of interest. To be repaid within 2 years.

② General Support Fund “Sogo Shien Shikin” (repayment required)
Eligibility: Households facing difficulties in maintaining their livelihood due to reduced income or unemployment.
Maximum loan amount: 150,000 yen/month for a single-person household and 200,000 yen/month for a household of two or more, provided basically for up to 3 months. Interest-free loan to be repaid within 10 years.

③ COVID-19 Independence Support Benefit for People in Need
“Shingata Koronawirusu Kansensho Seikatsu Konkyusha Jiritsu Shienkin” (No repayment required)
Eligibility: Households that have already borrowed a second time from the above-mentioned ①Emergency Small Amount Fund and ②General Support Fund, or households whose second application for the above loans has not been approved, are eligible to apply.
There are conditions on income, assets, and job-search activity. Please refer to the website for further details.
Benefit amount: 60,000 yen, 80,000 yen, and 100,000 yen for 1-person, 2-person, and 3-or more person households, respectively.
Period: Benefits to be provided for 3 months.
Where to apply: If you are a city resident in Kanagawa, apply to your city office. If you are a town or village resident, apply to the prefectural office at Welfare Children Future Bureau, Welfare Department, Life Support Division “Fukushi Kodomo Mirai Kyoku Fukushibu Seikatsu Engoka”

④ Housing Security Benefit “Jyutaku Kakuho Kyufukin” (No repayment required)
Eligibility: Individuals who have difficulty paying their rent due to decreased income, as a result of having left a job or closed business within the past 2 years, or as a result of temporary shutdown of their employers’ or their own business.
There are conditions on income, assets, and job-search activity. Please refer to the website for further details.
Benefit amount: It varies according to the municipality and the number of persons in the household.
Payment method: It is paid directly from the municipal government to the landlord.
