In times of disaster such as an earthquake or volcanic eruption, the number of people calling to the affected area would increase, making it difficult to get through due to overloaded phone circuit.
That’s when “Disaster Emergency Message Dial 171” comes into service.
It is a voice message board where people in the affected area can record messages to someone and play back recorded messages from someone.
～How to Use～
●To record your message
①Call 171.
②When you hear the guidance, press “1” .
③If you are in the affected area, dial your phone number.
If you are in the affected area and want to contact someone who is also in the affected area, dial the phone number of the person you want to contact.
If you are not in the affected area and want to contact someone who is in the affected area, dial the phone number of the person you want to contact.
④When you hear the guidance, press “1”.
⑤After the guidance, you will hear a tone. Record your message within 30 seconds after the tone.
⑥Then you will hear another tone and the recorded message will be played back.
⑦Hang up the phone.
●To hear a recorded message
①Call 171.
②When you hear the guidance, press “2”.
③If you are in the affected area, dial your phone number.
If you are in the affected area and want to contact someone who is also in the affected area, dial the phone number of the person you want to contact.
If you are not in the affected area and want to contact someone who is in the affected area, dial the phone number of the person you want to contact.
④When you hear the guidance, press “1”.
⑤You will hear the message.
⑥Press “8” to replay the message. To proceed to the next message, press “9”.
⑦If you want to record your reply message to the message you have just heard, press “3” and leave your message.
⑦Hang up the phone.
A disaster can occur any time.
To be prepared, confirm each other’s phone numbers with the people you would like to contact during a disaster.
On the 1st and 15th of each month, the “Disaster Emergency Message Dial 171” service can be used for practice. Try it out to prepare for the unexpected.
