[IKE23-04]【Lump-sum Childbirth and Childcare Allowance has Increased】: Starting April 2023, the amount of the lump-sum childbirth and childcare allowance “SHUSSAN IKUJI ICHIJIKIN” has increased to 500,000 yen per child.

This is a lump-sum payment from your health insurance when you delivered a baby. The amount you will receive is the same whatever health insurance you may have, if it is Japanese public insurance.
The lump-sum childbirth and childcare allowance is provided to those who gave birth after at least 4 months (85 days) of pregnancy.

Please check with the hospital you plan to be in for delivery on how to apply for and receive this allowance. If you wish to have an interpreter, contact 045-316-2770 at Multilingual Support Center Kanagawa.
