[IKE23-29]【Let’s Reduce Food Loss and Waste】
Food loss and waste, referred to as “SHOKUHIN LOSS” in Japan, indicates thrown-away food that is still good enough to eat.
The more the food waste, the higher the cost of disposing of waste.
Burning huge amounts of garbage will also negatively impact the environment.

Reducing food waste can help save money, too.
Let’s take the following actions for waste-free food consumption.

〇When shopping, you can try:
・checking what food you have at home before going shopping
・only buying the necessary amount of food
・taking the products in the front of the shelf

〇At home, you can try:
・preserving food in the correct way
・using up any remaining ingredients
・cooking the amount you can finish eating

〇When eating out, you can try:
・ordering the amount you can finish eating
・asking restaurant staff to help you take home the food that might be left over
