[IKE13-12]Start of the Basic Resident Registration Network System (“Juki Net”)
Beginning July 8, 2013, non-Japanese residents will be included in the Basic Resident Registration Network System, a national registry of residents in Japan (in Japanese: Jumin kihon daicho nettowaku and called “Juki Net”).

・A code will be written on the certificate of residence (jumin-hyo). The ward office of your city/town/village will send you the code.
・Apply with your city hall or ward office to receive a Juki Net card. Inquire at your local office regarding whether a fee is required (free in some municipalities), and if so, how much.
